Our activities in providing rehabilitation services and continuum of disablement to enablement can be divided under the following heads:

Basic Curriculum and Functional academics - The goal of educating is essential to bring out inner potentialities of differently abled people. Our curriculum emphasizes on developing appropriate living skills among the mentally challenged individuals to help them deal effectively with their environment. So the foremost non academic education is Personal Maintenance (Self management, personal hygiene) followed by Home Mangement, (Purchasing and preparing food, cleaning, using basic appliances all under staff assistance in Group Homes and families) Travelling(learning to use our conveyance and means of transport) and Leisure activities through sports and hobby cultivation. Academically emphasis is laid on basic elementary reading and writing skills, improving oral skills through speech therapy and verbal exercises.

Community Integration – Here, as the name suggests the major focus is on developing skills in community living. Young people with mental retardation are given training in natural environs. They go grocery shopping, to milk booths, to tailors etc and interact with people. Some operate minor bank transactions also. However we believe that best attempt to fuse with the mainstream is through participating in community festivals like Diwali, Dassera, Pongal, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, Ramzan etc. These fun interactions come a long way in sociological development of disabled individuals.

Vocational Training - Such training has greater prospects of social and economic independence. Functional independence in all aspects of daily life is incomplete without vocational training. Our motto being Self Reliance, we train the individuals in various vocations like sweet box making, paper bag making, cushion and soft toy making, embroidery, stitching bags and purses, arts and crafts, cut vegetables packing, aggarbattis, phenyl and liquid soap. Besides this endless list of home utility products they also do screen-printing and make stay caps, flaps, separators and bottle holders for industries. We also train them in self-employment opportunities like managing a coffee-vending machine, wet grinder, dry-grinder etc.

This folding jig, even though it looks simple at first sight, was designed after a lot of thought.

This facilitates a severely challenged individual to learn the task in much shorter time.
